What is the Englewood Archives ?
Built in 2013 as part of the renovation of the Englewood Branch of the Charlotte County Library, the Archives for Englewood, Florida area is located at 3450 North Access Roadin Englewood as part of Tringali Park complex. This special addition to the library was specifically built to house the archives and preserve documents, photographs, collections, etc. for future generations.
Who we are:
Friends of the Englewood Archives, Inc. began as a small group of enthusiastic supporters who met and organized to become a support group for the Archives. Incorporated as a not for profit 501(c)(3) group effective March 19, 2014, this group created a steering committee to create the managing documents and policies of the Friends.
Our Board of Directors consists of four residents of Charlotte County and three residents of Sarasota County. Our current Board of Directors was installed on January 20, 2015 and elected the current Officers. Their first meeting took place on March 19, 2015 at the Englewood Charlotte Library.
We hold four quarterly meetings per year, which are open to the public.
We welcome all who are interested in our history.
To support the Englewood Archives through fundraising, education, raising public awareness and establishing broad operating policies for the Archives.
